To use this feature, the CP2103 GPIO.2 pin should be configured for "A - Automatic by Device" using the AN223 CP210x Port Configuration utility. This pin should be connected to a RS-485 transceiver's transmit-enable pin. Since this signal is active-low, a RS-485 transceiver with active-low transmit-enable should be chosen. If using an RS-485 transceiver with an active-high transmit-enable, then an inverter will be necessary. Another way to use RS-485 with any CP210x device is to open the COM port in "Transmit Active" mode.
