181223 : Dear Colleagues,

During its 214th Session held on December 15, the CERN Council decided to terminate CERN’s International Cooperation Agreements with the Russian Federation at their expiration date in November 2024.

We are aware that the impact of the decision on some of you as Members of Personnel and your families may be significant. The Users Office remains available to you for support.

To offer practical responses to some of your inquiries, the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on our dedicated information pages has been updated.

We would like to inform you of the administrative consequences of the decision:

If your CERN contract of association ends after 30 November 2024, it will be terminated automatically on that date.

If you hold Host States Documents, you should return them to the Users Office either in person or by post, prior to your departure from CERN.

It is important to note that you must anticipate you contract termination and, as a result, address several administrative matters before leaving CERN and the local area. Please ensure that these matters are settled promptly.

Please, do also remember to return your host states documents and those of your family if applicable *

*Should you wish to benefit for a courtesy period of two months after the termination of your contract to settle personal matters in France or Switzerland, please contact the Users Office at least 2 months prior to your contract expiry date.
